Spent 3 years fighting a boiler that kept short cycling in Gary, Indiana

Turns out the previous guy had the wrong size nozzle on the burner the whole time. Has anyone else found a dumb simple fix after way too long troubleshooting?

Dude, that is the most frustrating thing! I spent like two years chasing a phantom rattle in my furnace, replaced damn near every panel and bracket, finally figured out it was just a loose screw on the blower wheel. Felt like such an idiot when I found it.

Felt like such an idiot" - man, I know that feeling too well. Had a compressor on a walk-in cooler that kept tripping the overload for six months. Changed the capacitor, the contactor, even the start relay. Finally noticed the condenser coil was just caked with dust. Sprayed it with a hose and it ran perfect. Sometimes the simplest stuff hides in plain sight.
