Spent a whole shift fighting a bad weld joint
Last Wednesday at the Tacoma yard I had this pipe flange that just wouldn't take the bevel right. Kept getting slag inclusion no matter how I set the heat. Took me three tries grinding it back and resetting before I realized my ground clamp was loose. Moved it closer to the joint and it laid down perfect. Anyone else have a dumb fix like that waste hours of your day?

I used to just blame my technique but yeah, that ground clamp gets me every time lol.

Depends how bad we're talking here. A little arc splatter and a slightly uneven bead ain't gonna ruin anyone's day. If you're not building a bridge or a pressure vessel, who cares if the slag needs a little extra chipping? Half the time I just grind it down and call it good enough for whatever farm equipment I'm patching up.
