Switched from a 4-inch grinder to a 7-inch for beveling 1-inch plate

My foreman in Toledo said the bigger wheel would save time, and he was right, it cut my prep work by nearly an hour. Anyone have tips on keeping the bigger tool steady for long passes?

Try using both hands and brace your elbow against your hip for stability.

Ever tried using a folded towel for extra padding on your hip? That little trick saved my wrist last time.

Yeah those long passes are rough on the arm. I do the same thing @webb.jordan mentioned with the hip brace. Also try shortening your stance and leaning into the cut more. Keeps the wheel from bouncing around on you.
