That journeyman who called my fits 'wet newspaper' in front of everyone

He said I was running my beads too cold and slow, chasing puddle instead of letting it set. Changed my machine to 125 amps and started moving at a steady clip, and the welds laid down flat like they were supposed to. Anyone else get roasted by an old hand and actually came out better for it?

Wait, hold up. "Wet newspaper"? That's brutal, I actually laughed out loud reading that. I've seen some rough criticism on jobsites but that's a new level of creative insult. Good on you for taking it and fixing your settings instead of getting defensive though. Most guys would have just called him an asshole and kept fucking up. Sounds like that old timer actually gave you the real deal instead of just busting your balls for fun.
