Vent: Weld test in Bakersfield went sideways over a damn rain tarp
Last Thursday I drove 4 hours to Bakersfield for a 6G pipe test, and the site super made us shut down mid-tack because his tarp flapped off the rack and wrapped around my stinger. I lost the coupon, burned a whole afternoon, and the inspector rescheduled me for next month with a $150 re-test fee on my tab. Has anyone else had a supervisor's cheap gear cost them a cert, and how do you push back without getting blackballed?

Call the inspector directly and ask if you can reschedule to a date where the super has a backup tarp or tent. Then email the super a short note saying you expect the re-test fee covered since his equipment caused the fail, and keep it professional so it stays on record.
