A 9 year old corrected my endpaper grain direction and honestly? They were right

So I was doing a small repair job at the library downtown, this little kid was waiting for their mom who worked there. I'm pressing a new endpaper into this old novel, and the kid walks over, stares at the book, and goes "that paper is going to wrinkle if you put the grain the wrong way." I laughed, thought it was cute, told them I've been doing this since they were born. Then I felt the sheet. I had it sideways. I had to flip it, redo the whole hinge. Kid just nodded and walked off like a tiny bookbinding Yoda. How do they know that? I didn't learn grain direction until my second year. Has anyone else ever got schooled by a random kid or a customer who clearly knew more than you expected?

My buddy had a similar thing happen at his shop, a kid maybe seven told him his leather stitching was backwards and sure enough it was. Kids pick up weird stuff when they hang around the right people, guess it just sticks.
