I finally switched from PVA to wheat paste for my book cloth and it's a game changer lol
Used to think wheat paste was too messy and slow but after a client complained about bubbling on a 2022 restoration I gave it another shot and now my linen covers lay flat every single time, anyone else stubbornly stick with the wrong glue for years?

What if wheat paste just shifts the problem somewhere else down the line though?

Oh man tell me about it. I did the same thing with cheap glue for years and it took a friend pointing out the exact same issue to make me switch. What gets me is how this pattern shows up everywhere in life. Like we get comfortable with the first thing that works okay and just stick with it until something forces us to change. I see it with my buddy who used the same kind of paintbrush for ten years because he thought the new ones were too expensive. Took one bad project to switch and now he wont shut up about it. Its funny how we need that one big failure to break out of our habits. Glad you finally found what works though.
