Just realized a cheap wallpaper seam roller works great for pressing down book cloth corners
I was struggling with getting the corners of my book cloth to lay flat on a 6x9 hardcover last week. Tried my bone folder, tried my fingers, nothing worked clean. Then I grabbed my $4 roller from the hardware store (meant for wallpaper seams) and it pressed everything down perfect with no creases. Has anyone else used odd tools like this for bookbinding?

Do you find the wallpaper roller works better on the corners than a bone folder? I had the same issue and accidentally used a rounded screwdriver handle that worked way better than anything else I had.

Did your friend also have that moment where they looked at their random tool collection and wondered why they ever bought a "proper" bone folder? My buddy Dan found the same thing with a putty knife he had lying around, works better than half the stuff in his kit.
