The week I bound 3 books in 5 days and my back still hurts a month later
Had a rush order from a local author in Portland who needed 3 copies of her poetry collection by Friday, and I pulled 14 hour days in the shop using that old lying press my grandpa gave me, glue everywhere, one mis-sewn signature that I had to cut out and re-do at 2 AM - has anyone else had a job go so smooth it was actually the one that broke you?

Wow, I read somewhere that bookbinding is basically extreme origami + carpentry.

Ngl @grantthomas, that's like saying a surgeon is just a butcher with better scissors. Sure, there's folding and cutting, but it's way more glue-induced existential dread than origami.
