Vent: Took me 2 years to realize I was putting my bookcloth on backwards
I was working on a rebind of a 1960s sci-fi paperback last Tuesday and kept wondering why the glue was beading up and not sticking smooth. My buddy watched for 30 seconds and said hey your cloth has a coating on the outside you're gluing the wrong side. Has anyone else mixed up their bookcloth sides and ruined a project before figuring it out?

Your buddy's comment about the coated side got me. It made me think about how most things have a clear "right way" but we just assume we already know it. Kinda like putting a new trash bag in the bin and fighting with it for a minute before realizing the flaps are facing the wall.
