Found a patch of native wildflowers while hiking near Boulder Creek last weekend

I was hiking along Boulder Creek on Saturday and stumbled into this small clearing I'd never noticed before, totally covered in blue flax and prairie coneflowers. There must have been over 50 plants packed into a space maybe 20 feet across. It got me wondering how many of these little secret spots are out there that just get ignored because they're not on a trail map. Anybody else run into a surprise wildflower patch that made you stop and just stare for a bit?

ngl I used to be one of those people who thought wildflowers were just like nice scenery you glance at and keep moving. but then last spring i found this massive patch of columbine tucked behind a fallen log on a trail i’d hiked a dozen times before. it totally changed how i see the woods now cause i realized those “ignored spots” are actually full of stuff if you actually slow down and look. it’s kinda wild how much we miss just cause it’s not on the map or whatever. now i find myself wandering off trail way more just to see what i might stumble into. definitely makes the whole hike feel way more personal than just following a path.

Same thing happens with people. Walk past the same face every day at work for months. Then one random Tuesday you actually stop and talk. Find out they're into the same obscure stuff you are. Makes you wonder how many connections we just walk right by.
