My $35 moisture meter turned my fiddle leaf from crispy to thriving

I dropped 35 bucks on a fancy moisture meter off Amazon after my girlfriend said my fiddle leaf looked like a dried up Christmas tree. Turns out I was underwatering it for six months because the top inch felt damp but the bottom was totally bone dry. Anyone else ever realize they've been guessing wrong with their finger test this whole time?

Oh, you got a humidifier for yours? I bought a cheap little hygrometer first to check the actual humidity in my living room. Turned out it was sitting at like 30% most days, way too dry. I got a small cool mist humidifier and put my monstera right next to it, and the new leaves finally started unfurling without getting stuck or crispy. Made a huge difference for me too, especially in the winter when the heat is running.
