Used to call BS on the whole "bright indirect light" thing and figured monsteras wanted to bake right against the glass. Then I scorched two leaves on mine and the thing sat there doing nothing for months. Moving it back a few feet got me more growth in six weeks than the whole year before, so your Seattle setup makes total sense.
