Rant: My fern died from a dumb watering tip.
Followed advice from a forum. Left it bone dry. So mad.

Oh no, that really stinks. @tessa177 is talking about ferns being tough, but bone dry is basically a death sentence for most of them. I got some bad advice about succulents once and drowned them all. Online plant tips are a minefield of good intentions and dead leaves. It's enough to make you want to give up on forums for good.

But like, how dry did you actually let it get? I mean, ferns are pretty tough sometimes, maybe it was already on its way out. Idk, I've killed a few plants from overwatering, so going dry once shouldn't be the end of the world. Maybe the tip was for a different type of fern or something.
