That week the greenhouse hit 120 degrees and I lost 8 seedlings

I was so proud of my little propagation setup in the backyard greenhouse last July... then we got that heatwave and I forgot to crack the vents before work on Tuesday. Came home to wilted tomato starts and a cracked thermometer on the bench, felt like a total failure. My wife found me just staring at the dead basil plants and said "at least you didn't start the peppers yet" which was actually a good point. Out of 12 trays I managed to save 4 by moving them into the shade house under wet burlap for a couple days. The weird thing is that one rogue morning glory actually thrived in the heat and dropped seeds everywhere, so now I got volunteer vines taking over the corner. Has anyone else had a random plant survive a disaster like that while everything else gave up?

The "finally, my time" part got me good. I've had morning glories do the same thing after a heat wave, just waiting for the perfect scorcher to pop off. Make sure you're giving them a deep soak the night before though, they'll drop those blooms fast if they get too thirsty the next day.
