TIL my 'dead' lemon tree had 47 new buds after I stopped babying it

I almost yanked this sad looking Meyer lemon out of the ground last fall because all the leaves turned yellow and dropped. A guy at the county extension office told me to stop watering it every other day and just leave it alone through winter. I counted 47 fresh buds on it this morning, and honestly I feel like an idiot for over-loving it to death. Has anyone else had a plant bounce back after you basically ignored it?
