Tried two ways to sprout my avocado pits and one worked way faster
I had three pits from the same batch of avocados. Put two in water with toothpicks like everyone says. The third I wrapped in a damp paper towel and stuck in a ziplock bag. Checked them after 3 weeks. The water ones had tiny cracks. The bag one already had a 2 inch root and a shoot starting. The bag keeps the moisture steady, I think. Has anyone else tried the paper towel trick for other seeds?

My grandma always swore by the water glass method. After seeing your results, I might have to switch to the bag trick for my next avocado pit.

My lemon seeds from last year sprouted in a bag too. The paper towel method works for lots of hard pits and seeds. I skip the water glass now for almost everything.
