Hit exactly 10,000 bricks laid on a single job and nobody cared but me
I was working a commercial wall out in Akron last month and kept a rough count in my head. After about 5 weeks I hit 10,000 bricks on the nose for that one project. I told my foreman and he just shrugged and asked if I took a lunch break yet. Guess it only matters to the guy stacking them. Has anyone else kept a running count and gotten a totally flat reaction from the crew?

Man, that "nobody cared but me" line hit hard because that's exactly how it goes sometimes. I've been there where you hit some personal milestone and everyone else is just thinking about lunch or quitting time. 10,000 bricks is no joke, that's serious work and you should be proud. The foreman probably just hears numbers all day and doesn't realize that's like a whole building worth of bricks you laid yourself. Keep your own count though, that's cool you even tracked it that close for five weeks.

10,000 bricks in five weeks... that's like 285 bricks a day if you take weekends off, or 200 a day with a six-day week. @nina180 that's way more than just stacking blocks, that's a serious pace. I've seen guys on commercial sites who barely hit 150 a day and think they're doing something. You must have that rhythm down perfect, no wasted moves. And yeah, the foreman probably sees a thousand bricks every shift, but he doesn't feel the weight of each one like you do.
