My corner lead popped loose on the Smith Street job and I had to redo 3 courses
Last Tuesday I was laying a corner on a two story addition over on Smith Street and the lead I set on Friday had shifted about a quarter inch out of plumb. I leaned on it with the level and the whole thing moved, so I pulled the top 3 courses back off before the mortar set hard. Turned out I had only buttered one side of the lead blocks and the wind had been whipping through there all weekend. Rebuilt it with a proper corner pole and it sat dead on. Has anyone else had a lead creep on them like that, and do you guys pin them or just count on the mortar?
