Switched to a hawk and trowel after 10 years of using a mudboard

I was always slow buttering corners until a guy named Dave at the job site in Portland made me try his setup. First week was rough, but now I lay about 30% more brick per day. Anyone else made the switch and stuck with it?

Man, I gotta disagree. I tried the hawk and trowel thing for about three months back in 2017. Hated every second of it. My wrist hurt all the time and I kept splashing mud everywhere. A mudboard just lets me load up and go without all that extra movement. Different strokes I guess but I don't see the speed gain.
