The foundation crack I ignored for 2 years and what it turned into

Last spring I noticed a hairline crack in a block foundation I laid back in 2018. I figured it was just settling and didn't think much of it. Fast forward to this month and that crack is now a quarter inch wide with water seeping through after every rain. I had to dig out the whole section, chip out the blocks, and replace them with reinforced concrete. The issue was I didn't use enough rebar in that corner and the ground shifted over the last 6 years. Cost me about $400 in materials and a full weekend of labor to fix my own mistake. Has anyone else had a foundation crack they put off and regretted it later?
