TIL a specific lime mix change cut my cleanup time in half on a Chicago job.

Switching from a standard Type N to a pre-blended, high-strength lime for repointing a brownstone facade meant the mortar set faster and washed off cleaner, taking my cleanup from about 3 hours down to 90 minutes for the same section.

Honestly, is saving an hour and a half on cleanup that big of a deal? Seems like a tiny win for what was probably a multi-day job. I'd be more worried about if that faster setting mortar is harder to work with or messes with the long-term look.
