Tried two different mortar mixes on the same job site in Pittsburgh last month

I was laying block on a retaining wall and had to switch from Type S to Type N halfway because the supplier messed up my order. The Type N was WAY easier to work with for the cap course. Held up just as good after a week of curing and the color blended better with the stone. Anyone else notice a big difference between mortar types on smaller jobs?

Wait the supplier actually sent you the wrong mortar and you didn't make them fix it?

Oh man no no no, @phoenixh74 you kinda missed the point there. I didn't just let them get away with sending the wrong thing. I pushed back hard but the supplier was being super stubborn and said it was a "close enough" match. The thing is, the mortar they sent was actually a slightly different color and consistency, but I had already started the job and didn't want to rip everything out. So I ended up using it but had to adjust my whole technique to make it work. It was a mess honestly, and I learned my lesson about checking everything before I start mixing.
