Tripped over a level and took out my foreman's sandwich
Last Wednesday on a job in Arlington, I was carrying a stack of bricks back to the pallet and my boot caught the edge of a 4-foot level I'd left on the ground. I pitched forward, bricks flew everywhere, and my foreman's turkey sub from the deli across the street got flattened under my knee. He just stared at the mess, then said 'That's 30 seconds of silence for the sandwich.' Has anyone else accidentally destroyed something that wasn't yours on a site?

30 seconds of silence rules. Gotta respect a man and his sandwich.

That foreman sounds like he's got a good head on his shoulders but did he actually make you pay for the sandwich or just give you crap about it? Because I've seen guys get docked an hour of pay for way less stupid shit on a site, like knocking over a bucket of paint or cracking a tile. If he let it slide with just a joke then you got off lucky. But if he hit your paycheck for it then the 30 seconds of silence is just him being passive aggressive while he plans how to get you back for lunch next week.
