Vent: I fought a weirdly bowed foundation wall for three whole days before I caved and called a mason with a laser level.
What's your go-to method for checking a long wall for plumb when a standard level just isn't cutting it?

Fought a weirdly bowed foundation wall" is my whole career in one sentence.

That whole laser level thing is a game changer. My uncle was a brick guy for forty years and he would just eyeball it, swear it was fine. You'd end up with a fireplace that looked like it was leaning into the room after a few beers. Modern tools save so many arguments.

I saw a guy use a string line with weights, that's probably the old school way to do it.
