Warning: That new brick saw coolant pump from Harbor Freight will dump water on your boots in under 10 minutes

Picked one up last Tuesday for a little job in Des Moines, and halfway through my third row the thing just started leaking like a sieve. Has anyone else had luck sealing those cheap pumps with silicone, or am I better off just sticking with my old bucket setup?

Will dump water on your boots in under 10 minutes" is an understatement. I bought that exact pump last month, and on the very first use, water started spraying out from the fitting before I even got the first brick cut. I mean, I know you get what you pay for at Harbor Freight, but this was bad even for them. I tried silicone on mine, and it held for maybe two more cuts before the whole thing just gave out and flooded the job site. In my experience, you're better off sticking with the old bucket setup. I went back to my 5-gallon bucket with a submersible pump from Lowes, and it's been night and day different. Just my two cents, but that little pump is more trouble than it's worth.

Must disagree, mine has been running solid for months now.
