Found a sketchbook at goodwill for 50 cents
Was at the goodwill on 43rd street last Tuesday digging through books when I found a practically new moleskine sketchbook. Been using it for pen drawings every night and it's lasted 3 weeks so far. Anyone else score art supplies at thrift stores?

Thrift store sketchbooks hit different because you never know what strange energy is baked into the pages. That half used watercolor pad is probably worth way more than what you paid for it. There's something freeing about drawing in a book that cost less than a pack of gum, no pressure to make every page perfect. Plus the paper quality on older stuff is usually way better than modern mass produced junk.

Oh "Lasted 3 weeks so far" like that's somehow a disappointing lifespan for a fifty cent sketchbook? I mean come on, what were you expecting it to do, last forever and pay your rent? I found a half used watercolor pad at Goodwill once and I swear the guy who donated it must have been a professional because the paper was better than anything I'd bought new. Idk maybe it's just me but I feel like thrifted art supplies come with built in good karma or something.
