Had to pick between a cheap guitar and a used camera
I had about $80 saved up from odd jobs over the summer and wanted to get back into some kind of hobby. My choices were a beat up acoustic guitar at a pawn shop for $50 or a 10 year old digital camera from a thrift store for $40. I went with the camera because I figured I could take it everywhere and not bother neighbors with noise. So far I've been walking around downtown Richmond taking pictures of old buildings and it's been a lot more fun than I expected. Has anyone else had to make a similar choice between two cheap hobbies and how did yours turn out?

Oh man, the light hitting those old brick buildings on Main Street around 4pm would look incredible with something that sharp! I saw someone post a shot of the abandoned train station last week with a similar setup and every little detail was so crisp you could see the cracks in the mortar. Those ornate window frames and the old tin ceilings would really pop too. Makes me wonder how many cool spots we walk past every day without really seeing them.
