That $60 crochet kit from the craft store was a trap
Bought one of those fancy granny square kits thinking it'd be a cheap afternoon, but the yarn was so thin and splitty I rage quit after 2 squares. Seriously, for $60 I could've grabbed 3 skeins at the thrift and made a whole blanket. Anyone else got burned by those 'starter kits'?

Read somewhere that most kits price gouge you on cheap acrylic, thrift yarn wins every time.
