The $8 coat I found at a laundromat last Tuesday still fits better than anything new

I was waiting out a wash cycle at the Spin City off Route 9 and someone left a navy peacoat on the folding table with a note saying 'free, stains on the cuffs'. I grabbed it, threw it in with my towels, and the stains came out with some dish soap. It fits like it was tailored for me, and I've worn it every day since. About 3 years ago I spent $120 on a similar coat at a mall store and it fell apart in one winter. Anyone else had luck with dumpster-adjacent clothes finds lately?
