The library security guard made me question my whole setup
I was chatting with this older guy at the downtown branch while waiting for a hold, and he said he's been doing all his photography with a $5 thrift store point-and-shoot for the last 2 years. He showed me pics of his grandkids and the city skyline that honestly looked better than stuff I've edited with my $300 phone and free apps. It made me wonder, am I overthinking gear when the real skill is just showing up and shooting, or do you guys have a favorite budget camera that punches way above its price?

Remember that most shots people treasure aren't technically perfect anyway, they're moments caught at the right time. That guard's camera forced him to think about light and framing before pressing the button, which is a skill no phone app can give you. Maybe the real lesson is that limits teach you more than endless options ever will.
