TIL you can use your phone as a light table for tracing

I was trying to sketch out a design the other night but didn't have a light box for tracing. Realized my phone screen on max brightness with a white image works pretty well. Layered some printer paper on top and taped it down. Got the whole outline done in about 15 minutes without spending a dime. Has anyone else found a random household item that works for art stuff?

Your phone on max brightness with a white image" - yeah my buddy tried that for a tattoo stencil he was drawing. He burned his leg trying to trace something and the phone got so hot he had to dunk it in ice water. Still worked though, just had to be quick about it.

Jesus, that's dedication right there. I've done the same dumb thing trying to show someone a meme on my phone while my hands were cold from holding a beer. Phone got so hot I thought it was gonna pop. Guess I'm lucky I didn't try tracing a tattoo with it. Sounds like your buddy's leg earned a few extra scar lines that day.
