Bought a whole chicken for $6.49 last week and stretched it into 4 meals

I used to just buy chicken breasts on sale for like $4 a pound, but last week the store had whole chickens for $0.79 a pound. So I grabbed one for $6.49 and roasted it on Sunday. That gave us dinner that night, then I used the leftovers for chicken salad sandwiches on Monday, threw the bones in the pot for broth and made soup on Tuesday, and used the last bits in a stir fry on Wednesday. My wife was skeptical but now shes asking when we can do it again. Four meals from one bird for six and a half bucks, that math works for me. Has anyone else found a big difference switching from boneless cuts to whole birds?

Man that's smart, I never thought to save the broth for a whole separate meal like that.

Hold up, is saving some broth really that life changing? I mean it's good and all but we're acting like this is some secret gourmet technique passed down through generations. It's just leftover liquid from cooking, not exactly rocket science. Throw it in a jar and do something with it later if you want, but it's not that deep.
