Frozen veggies beat fresh for my chili, and I'm tired of pretending otherwise

I was making my usual weekend chili at my apartment in Des Moines and realized I'd forgotten to grab fresh bell peppers and onions. I had a bag of frozen mixed peppers and onions from the discount grocery, so I tossed it in the pot anyway. Honestly, it cut my prep time from 20 minutes down to 5, and the chili tasted just as good if not better since the veggies didn't get mushy. The whole batch cost me $9 instead of the usual $14, and it fed me for four meals. Anyone else found that frozen produce actually saves money without hurting the final dish, or am I alone on this hill?

Saw some food lab guy say frozen is often fresher than "fresh" anyway.
