Had to pick between pork shoulder or chicken thighs for the week

Chose the pork shoulder at $1.89 a pound over chicken thighs at $2.80 and now I'm stuck eating pulled pork for 5 days straight, anyone else get burned by a bulk deal?

Feel your pain, I've been there too. That pork shoulder looked like such a deal but by day three you're just staring at shredded meat wondering what went wrong. I once bought a huge bag of frozen chicken thighs on sale and ended up giving half to my neighbor just to break the monotony. Those bulk deals hook you in with the price per pound but forget to mention the boredom tax. Hope you've got some good hot sauce and maybe some different breads or tortillas to mix it up a little.

You're telling me you gave half a bag of chicken thighs to your neighbor? @lisar14 that's actually genius though, never thought of that as an option. I usually just freeze the extra in smaller bags but then I forget about it for six months. Boredom tax is the perfect way to describe it, makes me rethink every time I grab the jumbo pack of ground beef at Costco.
