Hit 200 pounds of dried chickpeas through my pantry this year and that really snuck up on me
I started buying the 5 pound bags at the Indian grocery for $3.99 back in January just to save on lunch, and this morning I counted the empty bags stacked in the corner and realized I've saved about $160 on canned beans but I have no idea how I'm going to use 40 pounds that are still in the cupboard, has anyone else accidentally ended up with a weird pantry surplus like this?

Wait, hold on. 200 pounds? I had to read that twice because my brain refused to process it. That's like... the weight of a whole human standing in your pantry. I'm picturing a mountain of bags and it's making me laugh. Dried chickpeas are cheap but they also swell up like crazy when you cook them, so you've basically got an unlimited army of hummus behind you. I buy a 1 pound bag and it lasts me three months, so 40 pounds is just surreal. You're gonna have to start giving them away as party favors or something.

Watched my buddy Dave end up with seventy pounds of lentils after a bulk-bin mix-up at the co-op.
