My coworker's idea for a meal swap club has everyone picking sides.
She says trading homemade dishes saves cash, but I worry about the extra time (and weird food allergies). Curious how others handle meal sharing at work.

Isn't the point of a meal swap to get a full dinner? If everyone only brings sides, you're just getting a bunch of side dishes instead of saving on a main. That feels like it misses the point and doesn't save much money either.

Look at the math. Sides cost way less than a main dish to make in bulk. You still end up with a full plate and keep more cash in your pocket. That's the whole point of saving money.

Actually disagree, we do all sides sometimes and it works fine if you plan it right. You still get a full meal without anyone cooking a whole main.
