My neighbor's 75 cent pasta tip saved me $40 a month
Last month I was complaining to my neighbor Carol about how groceries were killing me, especially pasta sauce. She laughed and said she hasn't bought jarred sauce in years. She showed me her trick: just a can of crushed tomatoes (79 cents at Aldi), one spoon of sugar, some garlic powder, and a splash of the pasta water. Simmer it while the noodles cook. I thought it would taste like nothing but honestly it's way better than the $3.50 jars I was grabbing. I did the math, I eat pasta twice a week so that's around $5 a week on sauce before, now it's maybe $1.50. That's like $14 a month, not quite $40 but still. Has anyone else found a simple swap like this that cuts a big chunk off their weekly bill? I'm trying to find more things like it, especially for breakfast stuff which always gets me.

Funny how one swap feels small but adds up. Guess we all got lazy with convenience stuff.
