Realized my go-to cheap chili was costing me more than I thought
I was at the grocery store last Wednesday adding up the cans of beans and tomatoes and ground beef for my usual batch and it came to $18 before I even grabbed the spices, so I asked the guy stocking peppers if he had any tips and he pointed me to the markdown meat section where I found a half-priced chuck roast for $7 that I slow cooked with dried beans and it made three times as much for less money, has anyone else totally missed the discount bin for years?

Wait, hold up. The guy stocking peppers gave you actual cooking advice? That's wild, I've never had a grocery store worker do more than point to an aisle. And you just walked right past that markdown section for years without even noticing it? That's like finding out there's a secret room in your own house. I'm sitting here trying to remember if my store even has one of those bins or if I've been blind this whole time. The dried beans thing is smart too, I bet that chuck roast tasted way better than ground beef anyway.

Double down on that markdown bin thing because I swear half the stores hide them in plain sight, like right next to the milk or in a weird corner by the bakery. Once you spot it, you start seeing deals everywhere and wonder how many good chuck roasts you missed out on.
