Rice cooker overflow turned into my best cheap soup yet
Last Tuesday I was making rice for a burrito bowl and forgot to set the timer, so it boiled over all over the counter in my tiny apartment in Cleveland. I scraped the sticky mess into a pot and added some leftover chicken broth, a half onion, and a carrot I had sitting around. Ten minutes later I had this thick, hearty soup that fed me for two nights, total cost maybe $2.50 for everything. The overflow disaster basically made a starter for free, and now I'm wondering if anyone else has turned a kitchen fail into something better. Got any other accident recipes that worked out?

honestly I dont get the hype. boiled over rice water is basically starch water, which is fine but calling it a starter is a stretch. you just made chicken soup with extra thickener. I accidentally burnt a pot of chili once and the smokey bits actually made it taste better than the regular batch, but that was luck not genius. most kitchen fails end up tasting like regret, not a $2.50 meal.
