Rice cookers are totally optional, I finally realized after 10 years
I was always team stovetop, thinking rice cookers were a waste of counter space. But after burning my third pot of jasmine rice last Tuesday, I grabbed a $15 one from Target and it's perfect every single time. Anyone else stubbornly avoid a kitchen gadget for way too long?

Oh man I feel this so hard. I was the same way, boiled over so much rice on the stove that my wife finally bought me a cheap Zojirushi for Christmas. Now I just rinse the rice, toss it in with the water line, and walk away. Best part is it keeps the rice warm for hours so I can make it early and not stress about timing with the rest of dinner.

Yeah the walk away part is the real game changer. @skylerc86 said it best about not stressing with dinner timing. I do the same thing now. Rinse, set it, and forget it until I hear that little click. Only thing I'd add is always use the finger trick for water level. First knuckle deep. Works better than any measuring cup.
