Showerthought: My neighbor said he eats beans for lunch three days a week to save money
He spends maybe $10 total and it made me realize how much I waste on takeout. What's your go-to cheap lunch that doesn't feel like a punishment?

That "doesn't feel like a punishment" part is key. My buddy got really into making big batches of lentil soup on Sundays. He'd fry up some sausage to throw in there, so it felt hearty, and a pot would last him most of the week for maybe fifteen bucks.

Oh yeah, the lentil soup game is strong (I do mine with smoked paprika and a can of fire-roasted tomatoes, gives it that smoky depth without meat). Another solid option is roasted sweet potatoes with black beans and a squeeze of lime, you can prep a bunch of them at once and they actually taste better as leftovers. Honestly, the trick is finding one or two things that don't make you feel like you're eating cardboard, then you just rotate them and the savings add up fast.
