Soups saved my wallet from weekly overspending

I was blowing my food budget every week. Then I learned to make big batches of soup with leftover veggies and cheap cuts of meat.

Does soup just make leftovers taste better somehow? I had some sad roast chicken last night but threw it in broth today and it's actually good now. Idk, maybe it's just me but soup fixes everything.

Totally agree about soup fixing everything. That sad roast chicken story is exactly what happens to me. It's like the broth just brings all the flavor back to life and makes it tender again. Ellis.ivan is right about it covering the dry sins, but it feels more like a rescue than just hiding the problem. I had some really dry pork from two days ago that was almost inedible, but it became a full meal once I simmered it in some broth with veggies. Soup just makes the whole thing cozy and complete somehow.

How does it do that? Soup just covers up all the sins of dry leftovers, lol. It's like magic.
