Unpopular opinion: I used to think canned beans were a cheap cheat...

My sister came over last week and made chili with dry beans she soaked overnight, and the whole pot cost under $5 for a huge amount. I tried it myself and the flavor was way better than my usual canned stuff, plus I got three times as much food for the same price. Has anyone else made the switch from canned to dry beans and noticed a big difference?
