Went to a fancy grocery store in Portland and their bulk bins are a joke

Stopped by New Seasons last week and saw their bulk rice was $3.49 a pound while the bagged version right next to it was $1.29. How are you guys finding actual cheap bulk options that aren't just marketing?

RIGHT? That markup is insane. I've seen the same trick at a few stores here in Seattle where they make bulk bins look fancy but the price is totally disconnected from reality. Your best bet might be a local Asian or Mexican market, they usually sell big bags of rice for way less than any grocery store bulk section.
