A coworker at the coffee machine changed my mind about future logs

I always thought rapid logging was enough, but this project manager said 'your future log should be a parking lot, not a promise' and showed me how he schedules reviews on the 15th of each month. Tbh that made me try a 3 month spread last Monday and now I actually use it. Has anyone else shifted their whole layout based on one comment?

That "parking lot, not a promise" line really got me thinking too when I first read it. I used to dump everything in my future log and then feel bad when half of it never happened. The part about checking on the 15th each month is the real trick though. I tried that for a few weeks and noticed I actually move things forward instead of just writing them down and forgetting. My whole setup changed after that, now I keep a short list of maybe ten things for the next few months and review it twice a month. It feels way less heavy than a full page of stuff I know I won't do.
