Am I the only one who thinks a bullet journal should look like a mess?

Three years ago, I started with a pristine notebook and spent hours on Pinterest spreads. Last week, I found my old journal and realized the only pages I ever used again were the ones with coffee stains and scribbled-out mistakes. Has anyone else found that perfect layouts just stop you from actually writing things down?

Is a bullet journal even real if it doesn't look like it survived a minor explosion? I mean, the pretty ones are just for show.

My bullet journal looks like a war zone, and it works.
