Fancy $45 pen set totally ruined my whole month of spreads

I saw this cute pastel marker set on Etsy for $45 and thought it would level up my journal. Turns out they bleed through everything - even my 120gsm notebook from Michaels. Now March is a mess of ghosted pages and I can't even look at it. Anyone else have a pricey tool that totally backfired?

Have you tried putting a scrap piece of paper behind the page you're writing on? I've saved a few spreads that way when I discovered my fancy gel pens were bleed-through monsters. It's not a perfect fix but it might let you salvage the rest of March.
