Found my old bujo from 2018 at my parents house last weekend

It was so funny seeing how I used to set things up, like 6 different colors and washi tape everywhere. Now I'm down to just a black pen and one highlighter, does anyone else look back and cringe at their old layouts?

Oh man, 2018 was peak washi tape era for sure! I think you might be misremembering a little though, because back then the whole minimalist black pen thing was actually getting pretty popular too, some people were already ditching all the extras. But yeah, looking back at my old layouts with the five different marker colors and stickers everywhere definitely makes me laugh now.

Wait, did you ever try using just one or two washi tapes as accent borders instead of covering whole pages with them? In my experience, that helped me ease into a simpler style without feeling like I was abandoning all the fun stuff at once. @shah.olivia, your mention of the minimalist trend actually made me realize I was doing a weird hybrid thing back then - black pen for the main stuff, but one strip of tape at the top for a pop of color. It worked for me because I could still scratch that sticker itch without going overboard.
