I found out most bullet journal users stick with it for over a year
I was reading a study from the University of Chicago yesterday. It said 68% of people who start a bullet journal keep using it for more than 12 months. I always thought most folks gave up after a few months, like with other planners. That number really surprised me. How long have you all kept your journals going?

So I'm the one who messes up the stats, right? My bullet journal lasted a solid two weeks. I got really into drawing a fancy key on the first page, then my daily log just became a list of "buy milk" for seven days straight. After that I lost the pen and gave up. I guess my personal investment was about as deep as that lost pen.

That 68% number is surprising to me too. I tried a bullet journal a couple years back. I lasted about three months. I liked drawing the little monthly calendars, but filling in the daily logs felt like a chore. I'd forget for a few days, then feel too behind to catch up. It just wasn't for me, but I can see how it clicks for some people and becomes a real habit.

Makes me wonder if the high stick rate is because it's so personal. Like, you're not just buying some pre-made planner that doesn't fit your life. You build the system yourself, so maybe you feel more invested in it. I mean, idk, maybe it's just me but I see that with other stuff too, like people who build their own computers or customize their cars. They stick with it longer because they put a piece of themselves into it.
